Objectives On successful completion of this subject students are expected to have demonstrated an understanding for appropriate application of industrial processes related to jewellery and metalsmithing; an ability to redefine objects; an ability to analyse, discuss and critically assess relevant works; personal responses to problem solving; an understanding of the implications of scale when interpreting designs; an ability to explore a larger range of materials and processes; and an understanding of working independently on both set and personal projects.
Synopsis This subject broadens students' awareness of the concepts and techniques of the jeweller/metalsmith and continues the development of skills in craftsmanship and understanding of materials, with regard both to the unique object and the making of limited editions.
