4 points + First semester + Clayton + Prerequisites: MAT1010 and one of MAT1372, MAT1020 or MAT1060 (a credit grade or higher in MAT1050 is an acceptable alternative to a pass in MAT1010) + Prohibitions: GAS2631

Objectives On the completion of this subject students will be able to perform basic probability calculations; recognise probability as a scientific discipline in which each step of a calculation must be clearly justified by a known law, rule or formula; be prepared for applications not seen before by understanding the style of thinking behind each technique.
