Objectives On the completion of this subject students will demonstrate an ability to research, plan, execute, and report the outcome of an approved supervised project; understand the ethical, legal, and practical issues in research on humans and animals; critically evaluate a major theoretical issue in psychology; understand the range and applications of basic and complex methods used in behavioural research; appreciate the scope and variety of psychological endeavours through a range of elective seminars; be qualified for Associate membership of the Australian Psychological Society.
Synopsis The psychology honours program includes a research project under supervision in an approved area, a major theoretical essay reviewing the current standing of an issue in psychology and participation in seminars. Intending students should contact the department for information and application forms before the end of October.
Assessment Thesis: 60% + Essay 20% + Seminar presentation and participation: 20%
