Objectives On completion of this subject students are expected to display in-depth knowledge of a range of general health problems experienced by patients; choose and evaluate a journal article that conveys both the science of nursing and the importance of its clinical application; apply the clinical reasoning process to selected concepts (acuity, chronicity) related to pathophysiological and psycho-social nursing phenomena; identify and apply appropriate nursing therapeutics to the health breakdown process
Synopsis The subject aims to offer the student the opportunity to explore generalist nursing themes by exploring medical-surgical issues from a nursing perspective. The subject is taught by lectures and self-directed research.
