Computers in the health care setting

Objectives On completion of this subject, students will be able to understand the requirements of computer literacy for health professionals; operate a microcomputer; explain the use of software packages in health care and appreciate the applications and the social impact of computers in health care.

Synopsis This subject aims to provide students with a knowledge of the basic concepts and terminology associated with computer technology; the ability to operate a microcomputer and associated peripheral devices; familiarity with the use and application of some common software packages; some examples of computer applications in health care.

Assessment Assignments: 50% + Examination: 50%
