Advanced pathophysiology

36 hours lectures + 36 hours clinical over 9 to 12 weeks + First semester + MMC Clayton

Objectives Through a variety of in-class, clinically based and student driven activities, this subject should enable students to demonstrate an understanding of maladaptive physiological process; apply pathophysiological concepts using a systematic framework to organise, analyse and synthesis data within a variety of clinical settings; through an understanding of pathophysiological concepts, describe the aetiology, pathology and pathophysiology of health breakdown.

Synopsis It aims to increase students knowledge base of the underlying pathophysiological processes involved with body function. An in-depth examination of alterations/maladaptions to physiological dimensions of health care are explored through a conceptual approach under the main themes of altered regulation, sensation and protection.

Assessment Two exams.
