Objectives On completion of this unit, students should have developed an
understanding of the fundamentals of molecular, cellular and clinical
haematology.
Synopsis The development and morphology of the cellular components of
blood, red blood cells, anaemia, vitamins B12 and folic acid, iron metabolism,
the function and disorders of white blood cells, coagulation and platelet
function and measurement in haematology.
Assessment Examination (held in conjunction with `Cell and molecular
biology III') 1 hr: 100%
