Industrial project 1

4 points + 39 laboratory hours + First semester + Caulfield/Peninsula + Prerequisites: 40 credit points completed from level-two and level-three subjects

Objectives The student is expected to acquire skills and practical experience in undertaking and managing a project similar to that typically required by industry.

Synopsis A nominal three hours per week during the first semester to undertake an investigation into an industrial problem related to a student's particular field of interest. The investigation may either be university or industry based and, where possible, be developed on data generated by industry. The investigation may be supported by laboratory work, field studies or literature searches as appropriate. Students will work singly or in groups depending upon the complexity of the project undertaken.

Assessment Based on continued monitoring, a report and an oral presentation: 100%
