Objectives To develop an understanding of the importance of facilities
planning and design in improving the productivity, cost and operation
effectiveness and efficiency of an organisation.
Synopsis The applications of facilities planning and design as keys to
productivity improvement and cost effectiveness. The techniques and procedures
of facilities planning, plant layout and material handling. Method study,
layout theory and material handling concepts in designing facilities plans for
both manufacturing and office environments.
Assessment Examinations: 60% + Laboratory/Assignments: 40%
