Solar/thermal conversion processes

Objectives Successful students will have become familiar with modern solar/thermal technology. They will be able to analyse given solar/thermal equipment and synthesise solutions to satisfy open ended problems in solar/thermal conversion.

Synopsis The subject covers the types and characteristics of systems for the collection, storage and utilisation of thermal energy from solar radiation. Active and passive systems are included as are concentrating and non concentrating collectors.

Assessment Examination: 60% + Assignments: 40%
