Objectives The student is expected to acquire a knowledge and understanding of the application of fluid mechanics and dynamics principles to the determination of wind loads on structures, and to carry out a design study supplemented by data obtained from wind tunnel experiments.
Synopsis Structure of wind and wind climate, bluff body aerodynamics, analytical solution of wind loading on structures and the response of structures to wind action, wind tunnel testing techniques, case study including determination of data from a wind tunnel study.
