Industrial experience

Full-year subject + Gippsland/Distance

Objectives The student is expected to gain knowledge and understanding of engineering work practices, management and labour supervision. The student must satisfy the requirements of the Institution of Engineers, Australia for engineering experience including work with professionals.

Synopsis As part of the requirement of the Institution of Engineers, Australia for all engineering degree programs, it is necessary for students to complete a total of twelve weeks of industrial experience. This experience is normally to be gained during the Christmas vacation periods between second and third years, and third and fourth years. A formal report on the experience is to be submitted on completion.
