Computer graphics, solid modelling and animation

Objectives The student is expected to develop an understanding of the basic components of computer graphics systems and to be able to carry out tasks involving implementation of algorithms or using packages to create graphics and graphic animations.

Synopsis Point and line-based graphics, homogenous coordinates, 2D and 3D transformations, hidden line and surface removal, surface shading, solid modelling, animation. Graphics standards and packages, CAD/CAM systems and applications.

Assessment Examinations (2 hours): 60% + Practical work: 40%
