Objectives The student is expected to acquire a basic understanding of
the characteristics, protocols and applications of ISDN networks.
Synopsis Overview of ISDN (Integrated Services Digital Network). ISDN
services. ISDN architecture. ISDN protocols - LAP-D. Applications of primary
and basic rate ISDN, terminal equipment for use with ISDN, case studies. All
students will use ISDN protocol analysers and ISDN multiplex equipment. Common
channel signalling - signalling system No. 7. Network performance analysis.
Assessment Examination (2 hours): 50% + Written: 50%
