15 points + Full-year subject + Clayton + Prerequisites: Level 3 substantially complete

Objectives The student is expected to develop the ability to undertake a literature survey and document an investigation which demonstrates an in-depth knowledge and understanding of a particular aspect of electrical, electronic and computer engineering.

Synopsis This subject is for honours students of exceptional ability. Acceptance into the subject is by invitation only, such invitation normally being made at the end of the first semester. The subject involves an individual experimental project and normally includes a preparatory literature survey and developmental work such as design, construction and programming. Students are expected to apply substantially greater effort to this project compared with ECS4395 (Thesis project B).

Assessment Practical and written work: 85% + Seminar presentation: 10% + Display material: 5%
