Objectives The student is expected to acquire familiarity with logic circuits and the application of programmable logic devices, skills in assembling logic circuits using wire-wrap techniques, and a firm understanding of a computer system at all levels from individual logic elements, through the flow of data and control in a microprocessor to the execution of assembler language instructions.
Synopsis A practical introduction to logic design applied to large-scale systems; register transfer logic; implementation using CMOS logic and programmable logic.
Assessment Practical work/Laboratory work: 100%
