Objectives An understanding is to be gained of the behaviour, theoretical analysis and design application of reinforced concrete structures.

Synopsis Functions and behaviour of different components of reinforced concrete building frames. Use of dead loads, live loads and load factors. Elastic and ultimate strength design methods. Analysis and design of slabs, beams, columns and pad footings to AS3600 Concrete Structures Code. Preparation of design sketches showing structural and reinforcement details. Visits of building construction sites.

Assessment Examination: 80% + Assignments: 20%
