Development, design and installation of topsides

Objectives To develop an understanding of the multidisciplinary requirements for successful design of topsides and of the basics of necessary project management related to design and installation, and to acquire some basic skills in layout of topsides to meet the design criteria, especially related to safety.

Synopsis Description of topsides. Factors in choice of system. Design of processes, mechanical and electrical services, instrumentation, structure; design codes and regulations. Safety. Project management and project engineering, document control. Case studies.

Assessment Examination (3 hours): 50% + Assignments and seminars: 50%
