Surface water modelling

Objectives The student is expected to understand the characteristics of hydrologic and water quality processes and to reach proficiency in the modelling of them.

Synopsis Mathematical modelling of individual processes for water quantity and quality; rainfall/runoff models for urban and rural catchments, optimisation, parameter sensitivity, applications; data collection requirements.

Assessment Written (2000 words): 20% + Examinations (2 hours): 50% + Practical work: 30%
