Selected topics in thermodynamics

Objectives The student is expected to acquire additional understanding of the application of thermodynamics for the analysis of complex systems.

Synopsis The use of the CSIRO-Monash Thermochemistry System, and other thermodynamics software packages for modelling of complex processes; thermodynamics of aqueous and non-aqueous systems including the thermodynamic modelling of high temperature melts; thermodynamics of supercritical processing.

Assessment Examination: 60% + Assignments: 40%
