Objectives The student is expected to acquire a basic knowledge and understanding of the theories of mass transfer and their application to chemical engineering unit operations.

Synopsis Mass transfer theories, diffusivity, mass transfer coefficients; continuous and stage-wise contact of phases for mass transfer - gas absorption, distillation, liquid extraction.

Assessment Examinations: 90% + Assignment: 10%
