Objectives Upon successful completion of this subject, students should have developed skills to locate the relevant research in education; developed techniques to critique research; used opportunities to examine the social and political contexts in which research is conducted and have come to an appreciation of the influences which these have on research.
Synopsis This subject will introduce students to the reading, analysis, reaction, and reflection on research in education and how research informs practice. The intention is for students to relate recent and key research articles in education to practice within a social and policy framework. In addition students will be introduced to sources and methods of locating research information.
Assessment Two assignments (2000 words each): 50% each
