Behaviour change strategies for teachers

Objectives Upon successful completion of this subject, students should have acquired the requisite skills in behaviour analysis to design, implement and evaluate behaviour change strategies in classrooms and other natural settings.

Synopsis This subject provides an introduction to the behavioural approach to positive teaching and learning. Its purpose is to help both professionals working with children and the children themselves achieve greater control over their own behaviour. The topics covered will include analysing behaviour, implementing change strategies, learning new skills, and facilitating classroom motivation and teaching effectiveness. The subject has a practical emphasis. Students will be required to take part in practical exercises and complete practical assignments.

Assessment Practical exercises and reports (2000 words): 40% + Major assignment (3000 words): 60%
