Objectives Upon successful completion of this subject, students should have knowledge and understanding of children with special needs and have developed skills in identifying exceptionality in the developmental areas of hearing, vision and language.

Synopsis This subject focuses on several areas of exceptionality involving the education and learning experiences of preschool and school-age children and adults. It is based on an understanding of normal intellectual, social, emotional and physical development. Opportunities will be provided for in-depth study of selected topics. Students will be required to read widely and to participate in regular lecture-discussions and practical sessions.

Assessment Examination: 50% + Paper (3000 words): 50%
