Objectives Upon successful completion of this subject, students should have a knowledge of different hardware and software applications and their integration into the curriculum; have a solid knowledge of the VCE including structure and course content; be able to plan units of work; have developed skills in classroom management; have an appreciation of the role of the computer studies teacher in developing and promoting computer education; have an understanding of different issues specifically related to computer education.
Synopsis School courses concerned with computers presently range from computer awareness courses at junior and middle secondary levels to VCE Information Technology. This subject is intended to prepare students for teaching computer studies courses at all levels in secondary schools. It will examine content, teaching methods and resources for these courses.
Assessment A precondition for a pass in this method is a pass in practice teaching and 80% attendance at all timetabled classes + A satisfactory level of achievement is also required for each of the following tasks Class exercises: 50% + Assignments: 50%
