The course
The Graduate Diploma in Educational Policy and Administration is a coursework
degree designed to meet the requirements of teachers, educators and
administrators who wish to gain higher professional qualifications and
expertise in the areas of educational policy and educational administration.
The course for the degree of Graduate Diploma in Educational Policy and
Administration consists of four coursework subjects. These comprise two
compulsory core subjects and two other subjects which may be selected, as
specified in the regulations for the degree, from subjects included in the
Master of Educational Studies degree.
The two compulsory core subjects are GED2880 and GED2881 (Studies in
educational policy and administration). These provide broad, foundational
studies in educational policy and administration.
Selection and enrolment
While the specific regulations governing the degree are set out elsewhere, in
general terms to be eligible for admission applicants must hold either an
approved three-year bachelor degree and an approved fourth year of study or an
approved four-year bachelor degree. The course may be taken either full-time or
part-time and it is expected that full-time candidates will complete all
requirements within one year while part-time candidates will complete them
within two years.
Course outline
Subjects available for the degree of Graduate Diploma in Educational Policy and
Administration are listed below. By resolution of the faculty board, each
subject of the degree is offered conditionally upon there being a sufficient
demand for it from enrolling students in any given year and on appropriate
staff being available.
