Physical education and health 2

4 points + 3 hours per week + Second semester + Peninsula

Objectives Upon successful completion of this subject, students should have gained knowledge and understandings of physical education and health and education and the principles to employ in constructing meaningful programs appropriate to specific areas in physical education and health education. Students should have developed skills that will enable them to demonstrate the ability to design, organise, teach and evaluate specific areas in physical education and health education; develop appropriate teaching skills and strategies. Students should have developed positive attitudes towards the values of teaching physical education and health education in primary schools and active participation in all the particular activities.

Synopsis Teaching and learning in the following strands: human movement, physical activity and the community, human relations, human development, safety and health of individuals and populations.

Assessment Written assignment (2500 words): 40% + Teaching: 60%
