Software systems design and development

Objectives On completion of this subject, students should be able to design and construct a small information system; design and write well-structured and correct computer programs; and appreciate those attributes which contribute to software quality.

Synopsis Systems analysis, system design principles, data entry and validation, screen and report design, program design, modular programming, the dBase programming language, menu-task systems, program documentation, data dictionaries and data analysis, file design, windows, colour, utility and library routines; software evaluation.

Assessment Two assignments: 60% + Examinations (2 hours): 40%
