International manufacturing

Objectives On completion of this subject students should be familiar with the practical analysis and evaluation of business policy as it effects international manufacturing operations; able to analyse the impact the international environment plays on business practice; able to explore the leadership and managerial aspects of the international business and manufacturing operations.

Synopsis This subject will involve detailed analysis of selected international studies drawn from various sources covering issues of strategy and best practices in manufacturing and operations management. Students will be required to analyse the relevance of specific issues presented in the Australian context. For each study, students will be required to prepare answers to specific issues and questions. An Australian perspective will be provided for each topic by an invited senior manufacturing executive from Australian industry.

Assessment Three assignments, (3000 words) each of equal weighting: 100%
