Objectives At the completion of this subject students should have a comprehensive understanding of the operation of the Trade Practices Act as well as the key issues posed by most systems of legislative control of monopolies and restrictive practices.
Synopsis Topics discussed are collusive agreements, misuse of market power, mergers, resale price maintenance, exclusive dealing and price discrimination. The subject highlights the manner in which trade practices legislation influences business decisions.
