6 points + One 3-hour session per week + Second semester + Clayton

Objectives At the completion of this subject, students should understand the difference between behaviourist and humanist psychology, and should be able to apply the principles and techniques of either to problems of management.

Synopsis Sessions comprise a lecture and a sixty-minute informal learning group. Initially, lectures concentrate on the theory and application of radical behaviourist psychology to the `problem of order', and explain how it differs from humanistic psychology. Other topics will also be discussed, including motivation, perception, attitudes, and gender. The learning group will study and discuss communication, motivation, and influence in groups, with the focus of study being the group itself.
