Objectives On completion of this subject students should have an enhanced understanding of the relationship that exists between the public and private sectors.

Synopsis This subject analyses the relationship between government and business, its problems and issues in both theoretical and practical perspectives. It looks at different models of characterising the relationship between the two sectors as well as examining approaches open to business organisations and to government to influence or direct the policy decisions of either sector. The subject uses lectures, readings and case studies.

Assessment Seminar paper (2000-3000 words): 20% + Major essay (3000-4000 words): 30% + Examination (2 hours): 50%
