Objectives On completion of this subject students should be able to explain the strategic and operational roles of logistics in the retail organisation; apply logistics theory and concepts to the analysis of the logistics processes of a retail organisation; identify issues in managing retail logistics functions effectively.

Synopsis Channels distribution; logistics concepts; customer satisfaction and logistics; inventory management and control; strategic warehousing and transportation decisions; warehouse design; packaging; logistics information systems; performance measurement; logistics quality; logistics planning and strategy.

Assessment Assignment (2000 words): 20% + Assignment (3000 words): 30% + Examination (3 hours): 50%
