Advanced financial modelling

6 points + 3 hours per week + First, second semester + Caulfield, Peninsula + Prerequisite: ACC2051

Objectives On completion of this subject students should be able to develop computer supported decision-making appropriate to the business environment, using spreadsheet and database packages; assess user requirements and define software requirements that supports decision-making.

Synopsis Contemporary issues in, and the technologies of, computer systems; programming concepts and practices and the necessary steps in the design and implementation of major information projects; database theory, design and development in which students will develop, program and implement a practical database design; design and development of sophisticated financial models using the advance features of a modern spreadsheet package.

Assessment Two assignments: 35% each + Test (2 hours): 30%
