Program planning and evaluation

3 hours per week + First semester + Caulfield

Synopsis Perspectives on program: types of programs, changes in programs. Program management in development, implementation and stabilisation stages. Concepts and models of need and methods of need assessment. Program planning: planning concepts, problem and values clarification, aims and objectives, resource and skill requirements. Program implementation: target group, resource allocation, staffing. Program evaluation: establishing evaluation criteria and measurement processes, development of monitoring techniques, measurement of effectiveness, efficiency and effort.

Assessment Written (6000 words): 80% + Seminar participation: 20%
