Koories and social justice
8 points + 3 hours per week + First semester + Clayton + Prerequisites:
KRS2010 and KRS2020
Synopsis A study of the application of British law, Koorie perspectives
and their reaction to it will be the focus of studies in first semester, plus
an examination of service provision particularly in the areas of education,
legal services, health and housing. Students will be expected to research
current policies in these areas as well as address the question of social
justice as it applies to Koorie Australians at both macro and micro levels.
Assessment Research paper (3000 words): 40% + Examination (2 hours): 40%
+ Tutorial paper and written summary (1000 words): 10% + Attendance and
participation: 10%
