Synopsis This is an off-campus equivalent of JPL1210 and the syllabus is the same as for that subject. It is part of a two-semester sequence and is designed to be followed by JPL1260. Subject participation involves the completion of work based around a study guide, textbooks and cassette tapes; submission of weekly written and taped assignments; and attendance at three Saturday workshops during the semester.
Assessment Mid-semester test (1 hour); 20% + Final examination (2 hours): 30% + Performance/workshop/telephone tutoring: 50% + Speaking test: 10% + Listening comprehension test: 10% + Immersion program: 10% + Weekly assignments: 50%
