Synopsis This subject aims to consolidate and further develop students' knowledge of Japanese in order to achieve lower intermediate competence in spoken and written Japanese. It is designed to continue on from JPL1210. It is necessary to complete successfully JPL1210 and JPL1220 to proceed to the second-year sequence. Students are advised to enrol concurrently for JPS1090 (Understanding contemporary Japan).
Assessment Mid-semester test (1 hour): 25% + Final examination (2 hours): 35% + Speaking test: 10% + Listening comprehension test: 10% + Quizzes, homework and other ongoing activities: 20%
