Synopsis This subject aims to consolidate and further develop students' knowledge of Japanese in order to achieve pre-intermediate competence in spoken and written Japanese. It is the first part of a two-semester sequence and is designed to be followed by JPL1220. Students are advised to enrol concurrently for JPS1070 (Sources of contemporary Japanese culture and society)
Assessment Mid-semester test (1 hour): 20% + Final examination (2 hours): 30% + Speaking test: 10% + Listening comprehension test: 10% + Immersion program: 10% + Quizzes, homework and other ongoing activities: 20%
