Introduction to Classical Malay, part 1

4 points + 2 hours per week + First semester + Clayton + Prerequisites: INM2320

Synopsis The development of Malay literature is discussed against the background of the early cultural history of the Indonesian Archipelago. Selected passages from well-known works in Classical Malay are read with attention to grammatical and lexical features and an introduction to the Jawi script is given.

Assessment Examinations (2 hours): 60% + Periodic reports: 40%
