8 points + 3 hours per week + First semester + Gippsland/Distance + Prerequisites: GSC1401 and GSC1402

Synopsis This subject involves a study of Australian texts, including Aboriginal and non-fictional ones, arranged by themes as in the Macmillan anthology. Attention will be given to the ways these texts reinforce or challenge conventional notions of the Australian experience.

Assessment Essay (3000 words): 50% + Examination (3 hours): 50%
