Synopsis Knowledge, values and skills in welfare practice. Introduction
to social casework, groupwork in welfare practice, and the welfare interview.
Compuslory five-day residential workshop preceding and during the third weekend
school of the semester. Students will have been made aware of this, and agreed
to attend, during the selection process. Teleconference discussion with the
subject adviser will be available to students.
Assessment Casework assignment (1000 words): 15% + Workbook assignment
(2000 words): 35% + Interview assignment (1000 words): 15% + Groupwork
assignment (2000 words): 35%
