Introductory German I

Synopsis GRN1030 is for students with little or no knowledge of the language. This subject consists of two parts. Part 1 Language: a communicatively oriented German language course designed for all-round development in the language. Part 2 German social and cultural history from the eighteenth century to the First World War: an introduction to the history and culture of German speaking countries from the eighteenth century to the First World War.

Assessment Examinations (3 hours): 75% + Regular short homework exercises: 25%
