Synopsis On completion of this subject, the student will be expected to (i) understand the conceptual framework and parameters of human personality; (ii) be familiar with the major theories of personality; (iii) have had some practical experience in the assessment of human personality tests and inventories; and (iv) make informed connections between aspects of personality and human functioning. Topics in the subject will include methods of research and personality assessment; the major theoretical explanations; biological and socio-cultural influences; applications to health and psychological functioning: the influence of biological and sociocultural variables on personality. Distance education students are required to attend at least one full day at weekend schools.
Assessment Assignments: 40% + Examination: 60% + A pass on the examination is a requirement for successful completion of this subject
