Chinese for dialect speakers, part 1

8 points + 4 hours per week + First semester + Clayton + Prerequisites:
Basic literacy in Chinese + Prohibitions: CHI3450 Speakers of Mandarin
Synopsis Mandarin: (1) phonetic system and phonology; (2) the PINYIN
romanisation system; (3) the simplified character system.
Assessment Examinations (3 hours): 30% + In-class weekly continuous
assessment on a pass or fail basis: 40% + Homework, oral: 30%
