Synopsis Interpretation of the Late Bronze Age phases of Minoan civilisation has become a battleground between rival groups of archaeologists. The aim of the course is to achieve diagnosis of reasons for the failure of the combatants to achieve consensus. By way of scrutinising competing treatments of key problems students will achieve the objective of appreciating the enormous extent to which differing methodologies, perspectives and expectations condition interpretation of data at a variety of levels.
