Painting and drawing

Studio arts subjects are taken in the Subfaculty of Art and Design on the Caulfield campus - subject to sufficient enrolments. Consecutive studies are offered in both semesters, their content complementing aspects of first-year subjects in visual arts.

There are no subject prerequisites for admission but students without VCE Art or previous experience of painting and drawing may find the subjects difficult.

These subjects cannot be taken in combination with music performance studies and students should be aware that they will be responsible for the purchase of art materials. The subjects depend on studio participation and it is expected that students will attend regularly, visit a number of recommended exhibitions and allocate additional time, outside studio hours, for completion of work.
