Comparative sociology of `development'

Synopsis A discussion of cultural, economic and political change in
non-Western countries with a focus on the Asia-Pacific region. A critical
evaluation of the prevailing notion of modernity based on the experiences of
the non-West.
Assessment Exercise (2000 words): 40% + Exercise (4000 words): 60%
