MA in applied social research project

24 points + 2 hours per week + First and second semester + Clayton

Synopsis This subject will involve students in undertaking a substantial piece of applied social research. It will be conducted as a group project supervised by a member of staff. Students will be expected to take responsibility for the design and coordination of the project, as well as to be involved in all practical aspects of data collection. Assessment will be on the basis of individual research reports.

Assessment Research report (15,000-18,000 words): 80% + Practical research skills (including fieldwork, interviewing, computer skills, and data preparation and analysis) will be assessed on the basis of the individual's contribution to the overall research project: 20%
