Twentieth-century compositional techniques

12 points + 3 hours per week + First semester + Clayton

Synopsis Students are required to record, modify, sequence and sample sounds to produce edited pieces of electronic music in the electronic laboratory. They also study late twentieth-century atonal and serial techniques by means of composing, analysing and performing.

Assessment Written (2000 words): 20% + Examination (2 hours): 40% + Five notations (5000 words equivalent): 40%
